Thought for the day: compulsory BA skills training for all Execs …

Picture this: all people taking on an Executive / decision making role are forced to do a week long BA skills training course.

How much easier would our lives be if the people we need to engage with approached decision-making with a logic-first mentality?? :exploding_head:

I’ve often thought the same thing!

I recommend Decisive by the Heath bothers a lot to management type folk – it has really simple models for decision making that are really easy to grasp and use!

I’m glad to say that I passed the first test in Chapter 1 by refusing to provide advice because I didn’t have enough info ! This looks like a great resource @Hannah - thanks for sharing!!

This sent shivers down my spine.

Trying to book executive level folks into a weeklong course would be an administrative nightmare!

Whenever I have to book things in with our senior leadership team the calendars are full to the brim!

It would be nice, but, I also am quite lucky to have a team of senior leaders who generally ask me to to the analysis, make a few recommendations and then they give the go-ahead sometimes with some extra context or focused questions. I think trust is key.

They don’t need to know or understand the analysis if I’ve pitched the summary and options at the right level. But that’s very tricky. I’ve done days or weeks of work and they need the sound bites.

Perhaps we should have an exchange programme?

Week? No.
Bite size - 30 to 45 mins, thats the timespan you get.
